Moyo loves to follow his foster mother, Roxy Danckwerts, wherever she goes. But here’s the catch – he is a 14-month-old elephant. Moyo was lucky enough to survive a possible attack from a pack of hyenas after forest rangers reached him in the nick of time. Danckwerts is the founder of the Zimbabwean Wild Is Life animal sanctuary he was taken to after being saved.
Moyo ended up getting so attached to Danckwerts that he decided to follow her wherever she went. Of course, this also means that the baby elephant ends up damaging a lot of her home furniture.
And this love is not one-sided. Even Danckwerts admits that she has formed a strong bond of ‘friendship, trust and love’ with Moyo and feels that letting go him will be hard, in BBC documentary Nature’s Miracle Orphans.
