The highly anticipated Hyderabad Comic Con 2019 started on Saturday at the Hitex Exhibition grounds. And the venue is crowded with many of the city’s youngsters, who’re there mostly for the fun of the Comic Con festival and to thrive in the energy of the place. But Comic Con is never only admiring an on-stage favourite. Quite a few visitors arrived wanting to become the centre of attention, wearing their favourite superhero costumes, such as Iron Man, Wonder Woman and Dark Knight, or even their favourite anti-hero costume such as Joker.

This event even had a few in the Avatar costume, and some in Spider-Man and Batman outfits. There was even one who’d appeared as Jon Snow from the popular TV series Game of Thrones. Sneha, an engineering student at Malla Reddy College who’s been coming to this festival for the last few years, showed up in an Avatar get-up this time. Dennis, on the other hand, showed up in a Bakugan costume. “I am a freelance graphic designer and I like Bakugan. I come here for all the fun and entertainment this is. And I am having loads of fun this time too,” he says.

It seems like the latest version of Joker has impressed many youngsters, so also, there were a lot ‘Joker’s that showed up at the venue.

But despite the energy and the cosplay many missed the energy of festivals from the previous years. “As compared to last year, there isn’t much happening here yet and I’m hoping that Sunday will be the big day,” says Rishi J, who’s been visiting the show for the last few years and tries not to miss the fun.
