Mysuru's royal scion shares image of dirty palace hall after Dussehra celebrations

He called on people to speculate how they were planning on maintaining the cleanest city image.

Mysuru: Mysuru is known for its iconic celebrations during Dussehra and another claim to fame for the historic city has been the title of the cleanest city in India as per this year’s Swachh Bharat rankings.

But an image shared by Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, the scion of the Mysuru royal family, seems to indicate that people of the city are not really interested in maintaining the cleanliness that won laurels for them.

The image on Instagram was that of the Durbar hall of the Myore palace after the Dussehra celebrations, and showed the palace premises littered with plastic bottles, paper plates and cups.

Accompanying the image was a caption by the scion which said, "We cannot take our cleanest city tag seriously when the very Icon of our city is treated in this manner."

While authorities said they are looking in the matter, such a state of affairs is an embarrassment for the city in Karnataka where grand Dussehra celebrations attract visitors from across the world.
