Journey to a beautiful life
No beauty and talent can be undermined by age or marital status — that was proved when Hyderabadi Abhimanika Tavi won the maximum number of titles at the recent Mrs India beauty pageant. She became the Mrs India 4th Runner Up, Mrs India South, Mrs India Talented and Mrs India Fitness and will be representing India at an international platform soon at the Mrs Universe 2017 next year.
A software engineer by qualification, Abhimanika was always inclined towards performing arts. She was initiated to dance at a tender age of three, but had to quit when other responsibilities came her way. But future had big things for her in store. She says, “My friends and cousins were the ones who literally pushed me to submit my profile for the Mrs India competition. I was very happy when I got to know that I was one of the finalists. The whole experience at the competition gave me a new lease of life.”
At present, she is into choreography, fitness training, and modelling. Elaborating more on her passions, Abhimanika says, “I am very passionate about the Save the Girl Child programme. At the talent hunt round, I did a small skit about a mother who just lost her baby girl.”
Throughout her life, Abhimanika’s role model was her mother and now, her eight-year-old son is her pillar of strength. “The man behind my success is my son,” she said.
Eyeing the Mrs Universe 2017 title, Abhimanika is working very hard. “Nayanika Chatterjee, mentor at the Mrs India competition, is the one who groomed me. Currently, she is helping me perfect my ramp walk” she adds.
