Video: Woman born with vitiligo skin condition becomes inspiring role model

She had to endure cruel taunts like Dalmatian' and 'zebra' early in life.

A young makeup artist from Los Angeles who endured cruel bullying early in life for her skin condition is now making waves because of her distinctive looks. Tanesha Brown, 32, was called names like ‘Dalmatian’ and 'zebra' because of her vitiligo. Vitiligo is a skin condition that causes white patches all over the body as a result of melanin pigment loss.

Earlier Brown suffered from a sense of low self-esteem and would camouflage her patches with thick layers of make-up. But it wasn’t until after her pregnancy at the age of 20 that she accepted herself the way she was.

Now Brown uses her striking features to encourage women to develop a positive body image and has even ended up winning plenty of male admirers thanks to her popular Instagram account Vitiligo Queen.
