Both India and Pakistan will be celebrating 70 years of independence from the British Raj this month. However, the two major countries of South Asia are still at loggerheads with each other even decades after the Partition. Ram Subramanian, who is the founder of the popular social awareness Facebook page, Voice of Ram, brilliantly explains the causes behind the needlessly hate-filled relationship between Indian and Pakistan in this eye-opening video.
Ram talks about how the demonisation of members of the Muslim community in India has had a deep impact on the nature of the political and social discourse. Lies paraded as official facts and figures by armchair commentators, government-controlled bodies and even the government itself only end up worsening diplomatic relations.
He then criticizes the current leadership in both the countries and implores them to take concrete steps to improve the geopolitical mess in the region.
