A video clip capturing Tandur BRS MLA’s KGF moment has gone viral on twitter. In the video clip which has KGF theme music as its background score, BRS lawmaker from Tandur Pilot Rohit Reddy clad in an orange dhoti and angvastram, is seen walking in slow motion in a grand style flanked by the whole posse of armed security personnel assigned by the government. It may be noted that the Telangana government had upgraded his security and assigned 4+4 gunmen along with a bulletproof car in October 2022, due to enhanced threat perception in the aftermath of the infamous farmhouse MLA poaching case.
Video was uploaded to the micro blogging site by one Naveena with the handle @TheNaveena. She tweeted while sharing the video, "Reel by BRS Tandur MLA Pilot Rohit Reddy using govt security. His security was upgraded after farmhouse MLA poaching case."
While very few twitterati found the reel hilarious, it received a huge backlash from a majority of the users who criticised misuse of public office and its privileges for such frivolous purposes; some of the users also labelled it as blatant misuse of taxpayers' money urging the Telangana DGP office to take note of the same and to withdraw the security assigned to the erring MLA. Another user also tagged KTR who happens to be the working president of BRS and asked him if such behaviour of his party MLA is acceptable to him.
@HarishKumarDaga tweeted, "Now I understandHow Taxpayers Money is been wasted. Apparently saved amount would have used to repay the Loan Taken"
@Savehyderabad2 tagged KTR and asked, "@KTRBRS really sir, isn't this misuse of power?"
@Mee_Krishna_Rao commented, "These days even MLA'S are behaving like a mere Tiktok stars at the expense of Taxpayers Money. Unfortunate that many deserving people doesn't get this cover and people like these are creating a bad example."
@ravishendarkar drew attention of Telangana DGP to the video and tweeted, "Tax Payers money is spent like this @TelanganaDGP Are police personal allowed to do reels while on duty? @TelanganaCMO @KTRBRS"
@Nitin14raj taunted the erring MLA, "Enjoy cheyyi raa pilot. inko 4 months athe ga"
@akshaytandur commented, "emi ra rohit reddy ni valla ma tandur ki em upayogam, eppudu chudu bad news."
