Coimbatore vada seller gets Rs 1.5 lakh from Facebook campaign to pay for amputation

There are many people who can barely afford their medical expenses but sometimes good Samaritans come to their aid by donating money for their treatment just in time. Recently, the story of a Tamil man unable to afford his leg amputation expenses went viral on social media and now people have come together to collect enough money to help him out in an inspiring tale.

Coimbatore-based vada seller Javed Khan suffers from diabetes but his condition worsened and he had to get his foot amputated. Unfortunately, for him, it was a task to arrange for the money because he didn’t earn as much to afford the surgery. Aravind, a regular at his stall decided to visit Javed after his shop was closed for over two weeks when he got to know about his plight.

The story of the 50-year-old who sells keema vada at Kottaimedu was shared by filmmaker Aravind and has got over 4,000 shares. People have gone all out to help him cover the costs of his operation along with the school fees of his two children. He has now received over 1.5 lakh from his regular customers as well as people from Dubai and other places.
