Most of us are accustomed to associating Indian classical dance with Indian classical music. After all, any kind of experimentation will make the performance look weird, right? Wrong! An Indian dancing group has won the internet by mixing Bharatnatyam choreography with the popular number Love Me Like You Do by Ellie Goulding.
The dancers – Priya Varunesh Kumar, Pramita Mukherjee and Sandhya Muralidharan – feature in a video that has now gone viral dressed in traditional outfits. They remarkably use the different moods and body gestures of the dance form to express themselves while being totally in sync with the lyrics of the song.
