Canada boasts of a sizeable Punjabi community, many of whom have been living there for generations after migrating from India. There’s even a video of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau doing the bhangra at an event a few years ago that went viral. But Trudeau isn’t the only Canadian politician who has no qualms embracing different cultures.
A video posted on Facebook shows Whitehorse Mayor Dan Curtis wearing a turban and doing the bhangra dance with one of the residents. He even learned how to wear the turban before breaking into the traditional Punjabi folk dance along with his partner.
Curtis seems to have impressed many by his desi dance moves as the clip got over 1 million views and 23,000 shares on social media. Click on the link below to view the video:
