Going out of the way to bring happiness on someone's face is one of the sweetest gestures. Helping Hands Organisation (H2O) run by the engineering students of SCMS, through their new venture, Birthday A Bigday, is on a mission to make the birthdays a special day for the underprivileged. The students have come up with the idea of pooling money from those having birthdays in a particular month so that it can be used to celebrate the birthday of the unprivileged like kids in orphanages, people in old age home, pain and palliative falling on the same month
As a beginning, the volunteers of the organisation made this weekend a special one for the students of Buds special School, Karukutty. "The sole aim was to make the day a memorable one, filled with happiness and cheerful moments," says Prof. Manoj Kalathil, the team leader of H2O, adding, "We were welcomed by 15 extra special smiling faces and we all enjoyed the day together, singing, dancing, laughing and having a lot of fun playing games and sharing stories. The tasty lunch followed by the yummy cake completed the celebrations."
