Kozhikode aims record with world's largest chapati
Kozhikode: In an effort to set new Guinness Record, a team of 2,000 college students, comprising NSS volunteers and NCC cadets from Farook College, made the world's largest chapati here on Thursday. The event, which recalled the historic anti-caste 'panthibhijanam', was curated by the Guinness record holder Cartoonist Dileef. The dough for the chapati that weighs a whopping 175 kg was provided by the students.
The massive 6-metre chapatti was rolled out by 15 chapati makers, including Kundumbasree members. The mixing of the dough took nearly 2 hours. The chapati was prepared under the supervision of Chef Mahmood. The participation of students from Love Shore Institute for Mentally Challenged, Mukkam made the event even more special. "Now there is one more beautiful story added to the history of Kozhikode," one student observed.
