Rio comes to Chennai!

Come, experience the carnival spirit — it\'s all about fun, food, games, music and dance!

A parade of Samba dancers and super cool acrobats, an electro-acoustic artiste, stunts, high dance lifts, live music, gourmet food stalls, even Tarot reading. Where’s it all happening? Right here, in Namma Chennai! Yes, the One Plus Rio Carnival is coming to town!

The lively Samba performance, set to upbeat music, is being directed and choreographed by the super talented dancer @blackswankj. Troydonator will be singing songs right from the 60s to numbers fresh off the charts. You’ll get to experience the soulful music of Speak Easy Poets live. Neil Smith on the drums, Conrad Simmons on the guitar, Gerrad Joseph on the bass and Aniesh Chacko on the keyboard provide just the right background to the vocals of Kavita Thomas and Ryan Fernandez.

Even as high-spirited music and dance performances leave you gasping, Divya from Sacred Spaces, who has immersed herself in tarot reading for over 15 years, will share her natural clairvoyance in a quiet corner.

And for all the foodies out there, there’s everything from a live BBQ to desserts to cocktails! Bagel Pot, Aakariya Buddha Bowls, Oink, Paramparai, Westfield Waffles, Ciro-Wood fired Pizza, Gourmet Gig- Burrata Bar, BBQ Bike, Meltz Dessertz and Boxobon Chocolates are some of the food outlets that will have stalls at the Carnival.
Puffalope Productions, which takes fun seriously, has an exciting Copacabana Robbery planned, there’s a well-curated flea market happening, and the experience kiosk by OnePlus is something not to be missed. OnePlus is the title sponsor of the carnival and their moto ‘Never Settle’ has inspired every facet of the show.

The Rio Carnival Chennai is the brainchild of Pooja Reddy, a business management graduate who wanted to give the people of Chennai something they had never experienced before!

All proceeds from the show will go to the Clarke School for the Deaf.

The event is being held at the Sheraton Grand Resort and Spa, ECR, on February 16. Tickets are available on Book My Show.

Never again say there’s nothing to do in Chennai. And Never Settle!
