Delhi policeman lauded online for returning lost wallet to owner

He even refused a cash reward for his good deed.

On the morning of January 7th, Jagpreet Singh happened to lose his wallet near the Nizamuddin Bridge in Delhi. But fortunately an honest traffic policeman not only managed to return it to him but also refused any reward for the good deed.

Jagpreet was returning home when his car broke down and he had to push it to start. That was when his wallet slipped from his pocket. When traffic cop Madan Singh spotted a cyclist picking up the wallet from the road, he immediately chased him down. After he found lots of cash, foreign currency, ATM cards, and other important IDs in the wallet, he decided to immediately contact the owner by calling the number on his visiting card.

Overwhelmed with gratitude, Jagpreet offered Rs 5,000 to Madan which he vehemently refused by saying that he was only doing his duty. Jagpreet later shared his story via a Facebook post that was liked and shared by thousands.
