Transform your inner world

Live your life knowing that nothing is certain. such awareness will help you live life to the fullest.

In the present world majority of people are looking for inner peace. They go looking for peace in holy places, self-help books, spiritual retreats and are still unable to find it. The only place one often forgets to look in is within. Instead, we tend to do the exact opposite.

We run away from spending time with ourselves, being alone in moments of silence. We keep our minds occupied with things that serve no purpose at that given moment. For example: reading a newspaper while commuting, talking on the cellphone while walking in the park, checking Facebook, WhatsApp, and the list goes on. This inability to control one’s mind and calm it down leads to stress, anxiety, worries, fears, insecurities, restlessness and lack of peace.

We all want to feel happier, lighter and free, but how many of us truly strive for it? Inner peace is not about a peaceful environment, it is the magic that happens inside, a complete transformation of the inner world.

The key to finding it is not to go against nature but to allow things to flow naturally the way they are supposed to rather than trying to fight and change them. You need to trust the universe and understand that whatever is happening in your life has a purpose, even if it is a painful experience. Believe that great things will unfold through that. Many people refuse to surrender because they just don’t want to let go, this leads to inner restlessness.

Observe nature. It is indeed the greatest teacher. See how the sun rises, how birds fly, how a caterpillar transforms into a butterfly, how naturally the tree sheds its leaves... They all depict unquestionable acceptance and surrender which we need to imbibe in our lives.

Sometimes people who are healthy pass away in their sleep leaving us shocked. I would like you to spare a moment and think, what if these people knew that life is uncertain? What would be their quality of life? How would they have lived with this kind of awareness? Would they still have indulged in frustration, finding fault, self-pity, ego, living in the past or future? Would they waste even a fragment of their energy in arguments, fights, unforgiveness or materialistic desires?

The answer is no. Then why do we take our lives for granted? Are we going to live forever? Isn’t it overwhelming to still be alive, to have another opportunity to rectify past mistakes and create a change in the present for the better.

Tips for inner transformation:

  • Live in the present moment. Take each day as it comes. Do not let the energies of the past or future prevent you from unwrapping and enjoying the gifts of the present moment.
  • Start your day with awareness that life is uncertain and I must do my best today. Be watchful of your actions and thoughts.
  • Inner peace comes from self-acceptance. It is accepting your imperfections as much as your perfections. Focusing on your assets and enhancing them.
  • Stop comparing your life with others and accept your lot with grace. Understand that nobody’s life is perfect and there is a different story behind every closed door.
  • Learn to be truly grateful and loving rather than finding faults with others and controlling them.
  • Learn to detach yourself from the past and emotions that weigh you down. Let go of the thoughts that serve no purpose.
  • Abstain from addictions, such as mobile phones and gizmos, which basically take us further away from the self.
  • Don’t take life so seriously. Learn to laugh and find humour in every situation.
  • Spend time in silence and fall in love with your true self.
