When Royal Challengers Bangalore takes a troll!

The sad RCB fan has taken to humour to get over the team's losses with these videos...

With RCB’s loss to Sun Risers Hyderabad, our team is now placed seventh on the points table and evidently, every ardent RCB fan’s heart is broken. But that hasn’t stopped namma fans from making fun of themselves and their plight through the years these hilarious RCB aficionados are indulging in self-trolling by creating videos that every other Royal Challengers Bengaluru supporter can relate to.

Popular troll page Troll Haiklu’s Every Frustrated Royal Challengers Fan, a video which shows the predicamentof almost every RCB buff, has garnered more than 60,000 views in just three days. Tejas N, a meme-maker and one of the admins of Troll Haiklu says, “We weren’t too happy with RCB’s bowling as we thought it wasn’t upto the mark. But the day we posted our video, our team actually started bowling well and batting badly! I’d actually made a list of all the points that came to my mind about our team’s performance so that they could be used later! It came in handy as we’ve used those lines in our video.” Their video has received a volley of comments from fans who’ve stated that they could relate to every dialogue in it. “As a fan, I’m still hopeful that we’ll win the next game,” he smiles.

Another YouTube channel that’s been creating rib-tickling IPL and RCB-related content is Karnataka Entertainment Board, popularly called KEB. Their recent video shows three friends lamenting about a close ‘buddy’ who’s left town and how they’re terribly missing him. “When you watch the whole video (spoiler alert), it’s revealed that the friend they’re talking about is a liquor baron! I thought the whole concept was hilarious,” says Kruthi K, a regular follower of KEB’s videos. KEB’s earlier video that went viral was titled Pat Antha Heli, a spoof of the popular game show Thatt Antha Heli.

While plenty of RCB haters are trolling our squad in abundance, it’s a refreshing change to see our fans trolling themselves. Social media pages like Namma Karnataka Memes, Kwatle Duniya, etc have come up with comical memes to make fun of their home team. One of the admins of Kwatle Duniya says, “We just want to make people smile by posting fresh humour. With IPL trending currently, people like to receive updates about the tournament both online and offline, so we’re bringing them that by adding a dose of comedy through memes and trolling.”

Music composer and die-hard RCB follower Hemanth Jois says, “I’ve seen a lot of memes from fans of RCB about their own team. I used to tell people around me when this year IPL’s commenced that the tournament should have two trophies one for actual winners and other one for us fans for being so patient. I think self-trolling is the best way to soak in disappointments.”
