Video: Baby kangaroo rescued after being pulled out of dead mother's pouch

A couple in Brisbane, Australia, saved a baby kangaroo’s life by pulling it out of its mother’s pouch that was killed after being hit by a car. The man and his wife make it a point to look out for any sick or injured wildlife that they may encounter.

The footage reveals a female kangaroo lying motionless by the side of the road before the man kneels down beside it and checks its pouch. He then carefully removes a tiny joey out that is alive and flailing its arms and legs.

The man later when on to say that six months earlier the couple had discovered another joey of similar size that too was in its dead mother’s pouch. Although the couple took the animal to the vet, it is not yet known if it survived.
