Seventeen-year-old Marnie Harvey has been suffering from a baffling medical condition for years that is still not understood even by her doctors. The teenager has to endure heavy bleeding from her orifices - eyes, ears and nose – which has caused her to become virtually housebound.
It all began in 2013, when she woke up with blood splatters on her pillow. Despite undergoing several tests for years and even avoiding certain food groups after being advised by doctors, Miss Harvey could not find out what exactly was causing her symptoms. Apparently, dark red, thick blood seeps out from her eyes, nose, ears and even fingernails up to five times a day. Her condition has prevented her from socializing and even attending school.
Miss Harvey also suffers from severe migraines and often has to lie down in a dark room to ease her pain. She was earlier suspected to suffer from brain tumour or even brain AVM - an abnormal collection of blood vessel. But even after undergoing several medical scans and tests, she has not been diagnosed with any diseases, according to the Daily Mail.
