Not all types of happy families have to be blood-related. A young girl decided to give a surprise to the man who had brought her up by asking him to officially adopt her. More than 18,000 people have shared the heart-warming moment captured on camera in just three days.
Misty Nicole Knight, an Illinois resident, uploaded the video of her giving the ‘special’ gift to her foster guardian, Ryan, on her Facebook account. She is seen giving him a gift-wrapped box with a note stuck to it. Ryan reads aloud a sweet message and then proceeds to open the box. The video shows him thanking her for the many small thoughtful presents inside before he discovers the main surprise – an application for adoption.
Although, at first Ryan appears to be speechless, he quickly gives Misty a warm hug before bursting into tears. He is even heard saying that he had always wished to adopt her.
