Run for a cause

The earnings from the fourth edition of TrivandRUN- 17 would go towards persons suffering from critical illness.

With an aim to generate funds for financially needy patients, charity organisation Save a Rupee Spread a Smile (SARSAS) is all set to come up with the fourth edition of charity marathon titled ‘TrivandRUN-’17’.

The event scheduled for Saturday is aimed at raising funds for persons suffering from critical diseases. ‘TrivandRUN-’17’ is organised in association with the Kerala Network for Organ Sharing (KNOS) to help patients who require organ transplantation.

The run is categorised into two — ‘Fun Run’ and ‘Endurance Run’. Fun Run is a two-km run and the other is of 10 km. The marathon will begin at 5:30 am with a warm up session at Golf Club. Besides these two categories, there is an exclusive Corporate Relay, which is a 10 km run for teams from corporate companies/firms. Participants have to run along the Vellayambalam-Kowdiar-Sasthamangalam-Museum route and reach the Golf Club by 11 am. Colleges and firms with a maximum turnout of runners will get rolling trophies. The funds would be handed over to Mritasanjeevani (KNOS).

Registration can be done at QRS (MG Road), Style Plus and Technopark. The general registration fee is Rs 200 and the student registration fee is Rs 100. For registering exclusive TrivandRUN caps and TrivandRUN caps with T- shirt, the fees are Rs 300 and Rs 600 respectively. Anyone can register for the run as it offers no age bar. Donations of any amount are also accepted.
