Although, Bollywood celebrities are still waking up to the idea, designers are already giving the trend a positive nod.

In Hollywood, we can credit Paris Hilton for starting the trend on the streets of LA, and following her footsteps are celebrities such as Emily Ratajkowski, Kendall Jenner, Jessica Biel and many more. The latest addition to the stylish pet owner bandwagon is Priyanka Chopra and her husband Nick Jonas — the couple was recently spotted on the streets of New York City walking her dog Diana.

Now, airport style files and gym fashion diaries are so passé among celebrities because they have discovered the most unexpected way to up the fashion game — through the dog-walking outfit, preferably matching with their four-legged friend.

PeeCee’s stylish denim dress and statement yellow sandals got her instant attention from the paparazzi, who seemed more than happy to follow her around while she spent time with her adorable little dog on the streets. Like Priyanka, many models and celebrities in Hollywood love to show off their street style with their cute street outfits, as designer Ranna Gill says this style is very “relevant” in fashion.

“Fashion is not always about an evening going look. It is getting more casual, you can wear designer outfits to Yoga, Pilates and a dog walking outfit is the epitome of sporty chic. The trend makes it more and more relevant keeping it at the forefront. It is very important to follow current trends and be fully updated in terms of fashion. Keeping it basic and casual yet chic, you can pair leggings with a blouse, Hoodie or a T-shirt with golden goose trainer sneakers making it fully fashionable. You can wear the outfits with a modern twist keeping in sync the current trends,” says designer Ranna Gill.

While, celebrities have always used the street style to draw attention and flaunt their designer collabs, with the dog-walking trend they also get a chance to twin with their pets. Designer Kangana Trehan, mentions, “I believe it’s refreshing and the time spent with our pets is worth making memories for a lifetime. Our pets understand how much effort we are putting into being with and around them. So it is a thumbs up from my end. For me, a nice dog-walking outfit would be a cute printed off-shoulder dress with matching shoes. It easy, comfortable and also looks good throughout the day.”

Interestingly, many models like Emily Ratajkowski, Kendall Jenner and Irina Shayk have been spotted in dog-walking outfits from their own brands, as they stylishly utilize the streets to market their products with their pets. Although, Bollywood celebrities are still waking up to the idea, designers are already giving the trend a positive nod. Designer Kanika Jain, finds denim to be a classic for streets. She says, “Denim has been used in every shape and form of the garment in today’s time, so much so that one can even wear them in any form. One can style denim with street jewellery or even a luxurious one, for instance, pair it with a classic white shirt and match with a beaded necklace or chunky earrings. For me, that is a perfect street style for a casual day out.”
