Video: Progressive ad celebrates the spirit of the modern Indian woman
Being an Indian woman at the workplace is a unique experience in itself. Not only do you have to carry the burden of society-approved norms about how a woman is supposed to behave but also strive hard in office.
A new commercial by a popular jewellery brand tries to portray the visible and hidden struggles that women have to undergo no matter what profession they are in. The video shows a montage of different working women in India going about handling casual sexism and trying to earn a living at the same time with a powerful spoken word poem playing in the background.
After all no matter how many ridiculous dress code expectations, moral double standards and preconceived notions about womanhood are imposed upon women, they will still continue to shatter the glass ceiling in style.
