How Twitter, books and Pokemon played a part in this fairytale romance
A love for books provides people with a window into a world of fantasies and fairytale love stories narrated in a manner which makes people believe in happily ever afters, but at times this love for books can actually bring wonderful love stories to life.
Victoria Carlin might only have read about the likes of Mr Darcy in books she read, a passion which made her an ardent follower of the official Twitter account of a bookstore called Waterstones’.
Victoria was in love with the unseen person who managed the account and consistently came up with quirky and witty quotes. But little did they know, that this online admiration was part of the universe’s plan to bring them together, only to be married four years later.
Back in 2012, Victoria tweeted professing her love for the person behind the Twitter handle, and was delighted to receive a reply from the account, manned by Jonathan O’Brein. This was followed by the two exchanging many tweets before finally meeting in person for a short walk during lunch break and a visit to a secret bar.
Jonathan told Mashable, “It was easily the best first date I’ve ever been on. I brought a book of The Wizard of Oz as a present because Victoria had mentioned to me how much she loves the film.”
The love story which had begun in 2012, culminated into a fairytale wedding four years later, and long before Pokemon fever captivated the world, the fictional characters had played a part in this love story, as this witty tweet about Pokemon had prompted Victoria to declare her love.
#bookfacts While there are now millions of books, the first 150 were obviously the best. No, wait..that's Pokemon. #pokemonfacts

The way a love for books and the social media brought these two people together, shows why people should never stop believing in happily ever afters.
