Follow passion, for success to follow!

Speakers from the second edition of Glassbox's series Meraki', talk about choosing unconventional careers.

In a rapidly changing world of work, the young generation is slowly treading on off-beat paths to follow their passion. While stepping out of the comfort zone is essential to live the life of dreams, the youth also have a hard time figuring out what they are exactly passionate about. The second edition of Glassbox’s Speaker Series — Meraki features achievers from different fields who persevered to make a career with what they love. “I think it’s great to have such events, because when I began my career, there were no events like this. Perhaps something like this, would have given me a clearer picture,” says Jerry Silvester Vincent, a music composer, who is one of the guest speakers this year. This edition of Meraki focuses on going down the unconventional paths and choosing alternate careers.

The speakers chosen to strike a balance between unconventional creativity and modern success consist of music composer Jerry Silvester Vincent, animal assisted psychotherapist Anjana Thampy, brewmaster Vidya Kubher and the CEO of Future farms Sriram Gopal. “My family was supportive and they knew this was relatively new in India. I do wonder if everyone follows their passion, how happy they would be — so I’m excited to speak about it and meet others who follow their passion as well,” shares Anjana Thampy, who helps her clients with the support of her cat Arya and dog Omana.

Talking about the objective of the series, an organiser from the Glassbox team, Supriya, concludes by saying, “Meraki is about bringing together a set of intelligent, successful and thought provoking individuals who create a culture, where everybody is encouraged to pursue unique talents. We want people to engage, network and to have a few hours of inspiration every now and then.”
