Tamil Nadu school closes for a week after student claims building was shaking'

While the classes continued soon after, parents of the students demanded a clearance certificate for the school from the government.

Classes at a school in Tamil Nadu’s Thiruvallur district have been suspended for the last one week after a student raised an alarm claiming that the building was shaking. However, authorities insist that the entire incident was simply a case of an ‘optical illusion’.

A primary school student of the Nazareth Matriculation School felt a shake after which he alerted everybody, according to The News Minute. While the classes continued soon after, parents of the students demanded a clearance certificate for the school from the government.

Fire services personnel and PWD officials inspected the school building later and have declared that they found the structure to be safe. However they plan to conduct additional checks to ensure that classes can continue to be held in the building.
