Kerala Dinkoist man posts hilarious matrimonial ad for a girl of his religion
Kerala: India is a country with people with diverse religious and cultural backgrounds with marriage being a big deal for people across the region. Apart from the diversity, matrimonial advertisements in India also reflect casteism and other prejudices in society.
While people can easily get into trouble for taking a dig at religion in India, a group of people came up with a religion called Dinkoism after the popular animated mouse Dinkan in Kerala. The mock religion became a movement for rationalists and now a follower of Dinkoism has come up with a unique matrimonial.
While people make a point to mention the boy’s caste with his educational qualifications in their ads with specific preference for a girl from the same caste, a man called Ramsin Shivashankar put an ad in a paper that read, “Dinkoist very handsome 29 boy MTech self-employed nationality no bar.”
He then posted a picture of his matrimonial ad in a Facebook post where he asked followers of Dinkan to help him find a Dinkoist and mentioned that even entries from Pakistan are welcome.
The man looking for a woman who worships Dinkan says that he has an account on Bharat Matrimony which doesn’t have an option for Dinkoism and described it as discrimination against a minority.
