Of poise and perseverance

The resourceful Tripti Aravind, who was crowned Mrs India World 2017 in Chennai, is on top of the world!

A woman of elegance, punctuality and composure — that’s this Kannadiga beauty for you. Tripti Aravind, who was crowned Mrs India World 2017 at the pageant held in Chennai, is a powerhouse of talent. The Bengaluru-based beauty is a multi-tasker and loves to accept various challenges that come her way.

An educationist and a corporate trainer, Tripti also handles her husband’s business. “I am a multi-tasker and it gives me a kick. That said, one should learn to prioritise things and I make sure to find time for the things I love. Currently, I am doing my PhD in Human Resource Management,” she says enthusiastically.

Tripti dabbled in modelling before her marriage 11 years ago, but later got busy with her family and work commitments. “Modelling wasn’t my priority after wedding. I had my hands full. But I always keep myself updated about the fashion trends and closely follow it. I love accepting challenges and that’s one of the reasons for participating in the beauty pageant.”

Tripti was crowned Mrs Karnataka 2017 in January, which paved her way to the Mrs India pageant in Chennai. She says, “It was really amazing to be a part of a beauty contest, where we meet participants from different states. We had a good time during the grooming sessions. The pageant was diverse and each contestant could take home a lot from other contestants. I felt really rich after knowing about various cultures through the contest.”

‘Who inspires you?’ is one question Tripti hears every other time and she has an apt answer. “Actually none. I am self-motivated and self-inspired. I manage my time and family life very well. And that was the spark that kept me going,” the 36-year-old adds.

Tripti performs yoga regularly and has been practising for the past eight years. She propagates the idea that beauty is not just external, but internal as well — “If you’re happy and beautiful inside, it will show outside. I will be representing India at the international level and have already started the preparations. Being a corporate trainer, I have the advantage of grooming and training myself.”

Being an entrepreneur and now a beauty pageant winner, Tripti says that it’s quite hard to stand out. “We live in a very competitive field. And if you want to be successful, you need to have confidence in your abilities. Don’t take criticisms and prejudice personally,” she sums up.
