Shocking footage captured by a tourist shows an orca apparently trying to end its own life at an aqua park in Tenerife. The alarming video which was posted on a website of the dolphin protection organisation, Dolphin Project, has now gone viral on social media.
The video shows Morgan jumping out of her tank and landing on a concrete slab out of the water after a whale show. Eye-witness, mostly visitors to the park, claimed that they believe she was trying to kill herself. However, park experts contend that whale’s behaviour in the tank was ‘normal’ even though she was reportedly seen banging her head against a metal gate just a few weeks ago, according The Mirror.
Morgan, who was captured off the Netherlands coast in June 2010, is currently owned by the SeaWorld. The incident has caused much concern among animal rights activists.
