Meet Hyderabad's campassador Mohammed Bin Sayeed Basuleman

A student from CBIT was the runner-up at a year-long event that spread knowledge about technology.

Twenty-year-old Mohammed Bin Sayeed Basuleman, a third year Computer Science and Engineering student from Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology (CBIT), Hyderabad, won the second prize at the recently-concluded Dell Campassadors event. Students from over 90 colleges across the country participated in this year-long event that aimed at spreading knowledge about technology among college-going students.

While thousands of students enrolled their names at the beginning of the semester in June last year, only 140 campassadors made it to the final list. Students then took part in several activities and competitions such as Dress up Friday, Geek Contest, Mannequin Challenge, Yearbook and Futurist contest, among others throughout the year. The winners then went to Bengaluru for the felicitation ceremony. “More than anything, I feel really proud that a Hyderabad student came second. It was a wonderful experience as I got to learn so much and had fun at the same time. I had a problem interacting with people earlier and being a campassador helped me develop my communication skills,” says Sayeed.

Talking about the activities he took part in, Sayeed, who is the sports journalist for his college newspaper Transcendent, says, “I’m passionate about new technologies and I was happy that I was asked questions on the subject. I also got to interact with VJ Nikhil Chinapa at one of the events. Some of the contests were really tough, but now when everybody in the college is recognising me and appreciating my efforts, it feels it was worth it.”
