Video: This short film will make you look at Draupadi in a completely new light

Indian epics like Mahabharata and Ramayana contain a treasure of interesting and complex stories, and many of those involve a pivotal role that female characters play in the series of events.

While the stories of women like Sita and Draupadi from these legendary tales have been a subject of debates relating to position of women in Indian society, some have taken a light hearted approach towards what they went through.

If you ever wondered about Draupadi living with five husbands, this short film by Delhi Belly writer Akshat Verma portrays the story from Mahabharata in a modern day situation.

The film starts off with Arjun bringing home Draupadi to meet Kunti, only to be told to share her with four brothers. While Draupadi doesn’t have any say in the decision, she acts in a completely unexpected way in this version.
