Be the change you wish to see: Venkaiah Naidu
Addressing a gathering of over 500 people at a Ficci Ladies Organisation (FLO) gathering in the city on Saturday, Vice-President M. Venkaiah Naidu delivered a talk on ‘Building A New India: A Quest for Women Entrepreneurship’. Speaking elaborately about the atrocities and violence against women, alongside the need for economic empowerment, he kept the audience engaged. Mr Naidu also used the platform to speak about the carefree attitude of the public wherein they expect the government to do everything, without taking up responsibility themselves.
“Friends, we cannot, any longer, adopt a chalta hai attitude and remain indifferent to the happenings around us,” he emphasised. “As the father of the nation famously said: ‘Be the change you wish to see’ — to start with, let everyone work at his/ her own individual level,” Mr Naidu stated. Kamini Saraf, Chairperson of FLO also spoke about women being the real architects of the society.
