7-year-old Syrian girl tweets about horrors of war from Aleppo
The atrocities faced by the people of Syria because of the country’s ongoing civil war have resulted in one of the biggest human catastrophes in recent history. Although thousands of people were able to survive the perilous journey across the Mediterranean Sea to enter European borders, many still remain in the country marred by unspeakable violence.
A 7-year-old girl called Bana Alabed, who lives in the city of Aleppo, tweets about her horrific experiences of living in a war zone to make the world aware about the tragic situation in her country. She lives there with her mother, Fatemah, and her brothers.
Her tweets reveal the uncensored realities of war and often include pleas for aid and prayers. Her Twitter profile currently has more than 50.9k followers. Here are some of her heart-wrenching tweets:
