Friendship comes first

This Friendship Day, we talk to a few people about how important their friends and emotional bonds are to them in life.

As one grows up and gets busy with the hustle and bustle of life, and the daily grind, connections we had made with people often take a backseat. But that’s far from the truth. While growing up and transitioning into adulthood, it is extremely important to keep our old friendships alive and also to nurture all of the connections that we make on our journey. Here are a few examples of inspirational friendships forged and fostered by celebrities in the state.

Keeping politics away from friendship
Ex-Congress Central minister Jaipal Reddy and Telangana home minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy are childhood friends. Both of them hail from Nalgonda district, studied in Devarakonda School and were part of the Janata Party at one point. “Although our political ideologies are different, we always used to bond very well. Our families, too, spend a lot of time together. I draw a lot of strength from him. Whenever I am feeling low or he is feeling low, we catch up with each other, but talk very little about work and politics. I depend on him for any emotional support,” says Nayani Narasimha Reddy.

“We meet once every three days”
This is a friendship that happened by chance. One can say that fate and luck played a role in it. Actors Allari Naresh and Nani met an award function — they were sitting next each other. This was a decade ago. Soon, they started hanging out with each other and after finding out that they shared many things in common, they became BFFs. “In fact, when my father passed away, he was the one who stood by me and gave me the moral strength. Also, he was the first one to know about my wedding,” says the 35-year-old actor, adding that Nani and he know each other in and out and meet at least twice a week.
