Kings of mashups

This mashup can beat the original GoT and Baahubali trailers any day.

Jon Snow as Baahubali, Daenerys Targaryen as Shivagami and ygritte as Devasena. While we have seen many fan made trailers of Baahubali and Game of Thrones, this one certainly takes the cake.

Made by Sujan Chinnapogu, who goes by the stage name Sujan Sam, the trailer mashup has been going viral, with fans of both the movie and the TV series appreciating him. Sujan runs a page called Sujan Sam & Sai Krishna Mashups, along with his partner Sai Krishna.

The duo also created many other viral videos including the mashup of Shape of You, with clips of different Bollywood actors dancing, and Shah Rukh Khan’s Fan trailer featuring Katappa as a fan of Baahubali among others. “I want to become a movie director, so I am hoping that my talent gets recognised this way,” says the 21-year-old final year student from IIT-BHU, who hails from Vizag. “Though I got into engineering because of my parents, the desire to become a director did not go away,” says Sujan.

It takes Sujan ten to fifteen days to find the right clips and sync it with the audio perfectly. “When I listen to a good soundtrack, I want to show a visual that is better than the original. I usually pick something that is trending. I imagine which actor the soundtrack would suit the best, and look for clips from their movies,” he adds.

Sujan started trending after his viral video of Dilwale mashup, where Mahesh Babu, Nani, Kajal Aggarwal and Samantha star as SRK, Varun, Kajol and Kriti respectively. Around the same time, Sai Krishna’s mashup on the song Love Cheyyala Odda started trending too. A mutual admiration brought them together.

The dream of becoming an editor brought Sai Krishna to Hyderabad a year ago. While Sujan’s interest lies with trailers, Sai Krishna experiments with songs. “We stay in different cities and can’t work together, so we take each other’s inputs and opinions before posting,” says Sai Krishna adding, “The page helped me to get many offers and I went ahead to direct video songs. I am well-known because of my mashups but my ultimate dream is to see my name on the silver screen as an editor.”
