We all know how advertisements about feminine hygiene products have depicting menstrual blood over the years – in the form of some weird blue gel. One particular advertisement was so stupid that it actually showed a pad being thrown in a big swimming pool and completely sucking it dry! But this cool ad by Bodyform does a great job of showing that bleeding is something that women should never ever be shamed of.
The video features women from all walks of life: dancers, athletes and even warriors bleed their way to glory. It stresses that periods should never be an obstacle for women to achieve what they want no matter what society tells you.
It’s heartening to see that even the advertising industry is playing its part in trying to remove the taboo surrounding menstruation in daily conversations. Let’s hope that this is just the beginning.
