Hunters kill 15 foot alligator who was on cow-killing spree

Hunters found it in their cattle pond and believed that it had been feasting on the farm's cattle.

An 800lb alligator was recently shot in Okeechobe, Florida on Saturday. According to reports, the creature was eating the cows on a farm.

Hunting guide Blake Godwin and Owner of Outwest Farms in Okeechobee Lee lightsey hunted a 15-foot alligator. They found it in their cattle pond and believed that it had been feasting on the farm’s cattle.

“We also discovered the remains what we determined to be cattle in the water. We determined that he was in fact attacking our livestock as they came to drink,” Blake Godwin told Fox 13.

The creature was shot on Saturday when it was approximately 20 ft away from them. They used the tractor to pull it out and posed with it. The photos were posted on Facebook and have gone viral.

Lightsey and Godwin plan to donate the gator’s meat to charity and have the alligator taxidermied for display at their hunting shows and expos.
