Video: US man stalks Indian families in park, accuses them of stealing jobs
The United States has witnessed an alarming rise in the number of xenophobic incidents, the latest being the fatal shooting of India-born engineer Srinivas Kuchibhotla. Now an anti-immigration website featuring photos and videos of Indian families relaxing in a public park in Columbus, Ohio, has raised fresh concerns about the safety of Indian communities living in the country.
The video, posted on the website SaveAmericanITJobs.com, called ‘Welcome to Columbus Ohio suburbs – Lets take a walk to Indian park’, shows Indian families relaxing in a public park in suburban Ohio. Its description mentions how wealthy Indian families moved to suburban homes in Ohio that resulted in the ‘displacement of Americans’. The video has been viewed more than 41,000 times.
The creator of the website is a 66-year-old computer programmer from Virginia called Steve Pushor, according to BuzzFeed. In the video, Pushor can be heard saying, “The number of people from foreign countries blows my mind out here. You see this whole area is all Indian, amazing. It’s an amazing number of jobs have been taken away from Americans. The Indian crowd has ravished the Midwest. It’s a takeover (sic). ” He even goes on to describe the park as a ‘mini Mumbai’.
