Rahul Gandhi and his mother were seen taking some much-needed time off in Goa, at a five star in the south. Posing next to a glittery Christmas tree, the mother and son looked casual and relaxed as they holidayed, and took to celebrating the New Year in peace and quiet.
Many old Bengalureans like Sameer Malhotra, Rahul Dev Shetty etc rang in the New Year at the Karnataka Golf Association or KGA where we hear there was much fanfare and revellery. The couple were spotted with Khiladi Akshay Kumar who was tucking into some local delicacies with the newly weds at a quaint eatery in Cape Town. We hear Akshay was there with his lady love Twinkle Khanna, who celebrated her birthday on December 28. Seems like it was a large and glittering Indian contingent chilling out away from the limelight in SA. Later, Virat and Anushka Sharma were also spotted shopping in South Africa. They caught up with cricket buddy Shikhar Dhawan and his family as well. The couple who honeymooned in Finland, is in South Africa for the Indian skipper’s cricket series. Shikhar Dhawan’s wife Aesha Dhawan posted a series of photos with Virat and Anushka as they went sight-seeing around Cape Town.
In other news, with football being the mood of the moment with the ISL on in full fervour, we spotted skippers Virat Kohli and Sunil Chhetri in a cosy picture of the two captains at the Virushka reception and couldn’t resist posting it.
