A group of thieves used dog poo to distract bank staff in Spain in order to steal some valuables, the Metro reported.
One of them was assigned to drop the faeces on the floor to distract all those in the bank, while the other raided it. "How disgusting, where's the cleaner?” one of the thieves reported said.
With all the commotion, the bank director left his office, the Spanish National Police revealed the details of the crime.
Police arrested five members from Colombia, Mexico and Cuba and aged between 21 and 61. "One wore a suit and tie, another was dressed in sports clothes with a baseball cap, one looked like a pensioner, one was a woman and another had long hair bunched up in a ponytail," a police spokesman is quoted as saying by the Metro.
Adding, "Each had a different role and when one managed to get to see the bank director in his office, another managed to draw peoples’ attention to an animal excrement another suspect had previously dropped near the door."
While they successfully managed to leave the bank with what they wanted, they did eventually get caught. Details of the arrest have not been released.
Police said the suspects have committed crimes before but do not know yet if they have used this unusual tactic before.
