An ambulance in the name of Rajinikanth
It’s common knowledge that fans of Rajinikanth always celebrate the star’s birthday with verve, often indulging in several philanthropic activities, not just in Tamil Nadu but all over the world. Apparently, the Baasha star was in no mood to celebrate his 67th birthday (December 12) owing to late Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa’s death. Recently, Rajinikanth’s huge fan following in his native Bengaluru, made a nice gesture to serve the society. Sri Padma Vibhushan Rajinikanth Fans Trust, a registered organisation, had launched a public service Rajinikanth Ambulance Service and donated the vehicle to Tamil Sangam in Ulsoor on the occasion.
According to sources, they had raised funds to create the specialised ambulance, which bears a few stills of Rajinikanth, including the one from Kabali. Since they could not launch the service as planned on December 12, owing to JJ’s untimely demise, they did not also want to postpone a public utility for a long and hence chose January 1 to inaugurate the service.
An ardent fan from the association, on anonymity, said, “We all wanted Rajini sir to unveil the ambulance’s first service and invited him as well. For some reason, he turned it down, but sent us his wishes and appreciated our good gesture towards the society”. Meanwhile, the actor is currently busy wrapping up his ambitious sequel 2.O, directed by Shankar, the showman of Tamil cinema.
