Comedian rips apart the hypocrisy surrounding India's nationalism' debate
For stand-up comic Kunal Kamra, the recent happenings in the country offer ample material for making up jokes. Be it the chaos resulting from the demonetisation policy to the debate about what constitutes as nationalism, rational thinking seems to have been thrown out of the window.
Kamra talks about how he simply had to stand in an ATM queue to find that “Siachen mein hamare jawaan lad rahe hai” (Our soldiers are fighting in Siachen) has become the default reply to any question about where we are heading to as a country.
He further goes to say that the ‘Siachen soldiers’ argument is treated like a “Shopper’s Stop coupon” by the current government for ignoring the legitimate demands by tax-paying citizens. Click on the link below to watch the video:
