Khichdi as India's national dish: Twitter reactions get heated
People on Twitter were going crazy with different views over khichdi being India's national dish.
Multiple reports on Wednesday cited the humble meal could be he 'national food' after report it will be the recipe that will be made at a huge upcoming event in Delhi.
However, Union Minister for Food Processing Industries Harsimrat Kaur Badal stated that the rumour is "fictitious" and it is only to be put as a record entry at the World Food India event.
The three-day event at the India Gate Lawns which will commence on Saturday, will see chefs attempt to make 800 kilos of the steamy hot dish.
However, since the rumour spread like wild fire people had a mouthful to say.
Here are some of the reactions:
Do we have to stand every time we see it being eaten? Is it compulsory to eat before a movie? Is it anti-national to not like the stuff? https://t.co/MkgWEBNQlH

Soon we'll witness a thread about how eating Khichdi helped someone deliver Swadeshi triplets 🙄 and how Ram used to eat Khichdi everyday. ðŸ˜'

Khichdi is like Rahul Dravid. Never flashy or flamboyant, but it's the only thing that will rescue you when you are ill & few wickets down.

No action of this government has disturbed me more than announcement of #khichdi as National Food.

If Khichdi is being accorded the status of National Food, then Ghee, Dahi, Papad and Achaar should immediately be declared National Friends. pic.twitter.com/bLX842WL1S
