Kozhikode: Pain and Palliative Care Expo opens
KOZHIKODE: A three-day exhibition-cum-sale for charity began at Kozhikode Medical College Institute of Palliative Medicine on Thursday. The exhibition is being conducted in association with Kerala Vyapari Vyavasayi Ekopana Samithi and has new as well as reusable and recycled products for sale. The exhibition is part of its fund-raising programme to support the activities of the Pain and Palliative Society.
Institute of Palliative Medicine director Dr Anil Kumar Paleri told DC said that the exhibition got off to a promising start. “We had earlier conducted a similar exhibition in August first week in which we displayed many reusable dresses, handicraft, umbrellas etc contributed by people. This time, with the help of Ekopana Samithi, we got new articles and dresses, too,” he added.
The Institute of Palliative Medicine and the Pain and Palliative Society are planning to expand the project in future. “We have a plan to make it a regular exhibition as it has huge potential,” he said. “People have dresses and other articles to donate but they should also be aware of a facility where they can hand over such things. A regular exhibition will help them to do so and also to be a part of our charity activities.”
