Impending delivery of pregnant giraffe attracts millions of viewers
A pregnant giraffe has become an internet celebrity as millions of viewers are hooked on to a live stream of her going to give birth to her fourth calf. April, a 15-year-old giraffe, lives at the Animal Adventure Park in Harpursville, near Binghamton in New York state.
April managed to grab the mainstream media’s attention after YouTube cut down the live stream on Thursday alleging that it violated its “nudity and sexual content” policy. The video was later restored on YouTube after much protest.
Veterinarians said on Facebook on Saturday that they are unable to predict when the delivery would occur despite April’s progress. They cited that this was because giraffes often don’t show signs of labour.
