Message on a banana
London: Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, wrote personal messages to women being helped by a charity that seeks to help sex workers break free from prostitution in Bristol, southwest England. Prince Harry's wife engaged in this creative and compassionate activity of writing the messages on the bananas skins destined for the food parcels that would be handed out to the women Friday.
Meghan wrote encouraging messages such as "You are strong," ''You are special," and "You are brave!" with hearts next to them. She undertook this activity on her visit to the One25 organisation, which specialises in enabling women to break free from street sex-work, addiction and other life-controlling issues and empower them to build new, independent lives.
She said she was inspired to do this message writing exercise by a programme where "this woman in the States had started writing an affirmation or something to make the kids feel really empowered, as a part of the school lunch programme.”
