Man claims Tindersurfing is the new way to backpack around the world

Some people may find this idea strange.

Anthony Botta from Belgium says Tindersurfing is the way to backpack around the world.

Unfamiliar with this modern day trend? It's when people use the dating app Tinder to find accommodation when travelling.

Botta paid to use Tinder Pluse, which lets him match with people in other cities.

3000 matches and 21 Tinder hosts later, the 25-year-old told the Metro he hasn't spent a penny on hotels or hostels in the eight countries and 20 cities he has visited.

"I was hosted only by ladies I matched on Tinder. Sometimes for the best, sometimes for the worst. It has been a hell of a journey, meeting very different people, cultures and lifestyles. I learned a lot about myself," Anthony told the Metro.

When asked if sex is sometimes involved, he admits it has happened with some of the women.

Currently, he has Tindersurfed his way through Holland, Austria, Hungary, Slovenia, Germany, Belgium, and Poland. Now he has his eye set on New Zealand.

It may sound bizarre to some, but whatever floats your boat right?
