Eturnagaram forest becomes a major tourist destination
Warangal: Eturnagaram forest in Jayashankar Bhupalapalli district is fast-becoming a popular destination to relax for a day or two away from hectic work schedule. Jayashankar Bhupalapalli district administration has been working towards providing better facilities to the tourists, especially, nature lovers. The forest department has introduced several adventure activities including trekking cycling, jungle safari, rock climbing and forest camping. “Several people especially the youth from Warangal and Hyderabad are showing interest in camping at our sites. We have identified several spots suitable for camping at Tadvai, Pasra, Laknavaram and Pandavula Gutta,” District forest officer T. Ravi Kiran said.
District ecotourism coordinator K. Suman said they would provide the necessary weatherproof tents, bonfire tables, chairs among other facilities. He said that tourists can also avail services of two security guards and a guide, who stay with the camping party. “During the morning, tourists can choose between activities like bird watching, cycling, trekking, lake view safari, bullock cart ride, fishing, kayaking, and boating in Laknavaram Lake. When the group calls us to book a camping, we give them a complete list of available opportunities like small trek or long trek, where they like to camp and make arrangements as per their choice,” Mr Suman said. Each person is charged Rs 1200 and provided with the required tents, camping beds, dinner and breakfast along with other activities.
