Enjoy rock climbing at Pandavula Gutta

These activities have attracted good responses from tourists.

Warangal: Pandavula Gutta, which has become famous as a tourism spot for rock climbing, will now host a rock climbing festival every Sunday.

District forest officer T. Ravi Kiran said that they have decided to conduct this festival as part of their adventure tourism activities in the district. “Participants will get to do rock climbing, rappelling, bouldering and trekking. They will also be able to view rock paintings, which date back to thousands of years.” He also added that they were utilising the services of members from the rock climbing school, Bhogir.

“Precautions have been taken and safety measures put in place for the event,” he said. Starting from January 14, the rock climbing festival would be held every Sunday.

District ecotourism coordinator K. Suman said, “Each participant would be charged Rs 400. Apart from rock climbing, rappelling, bouldering and trekking, they would also be provided lunch.”

Mr Suman added that night camping facility is available at Pandavula Gutta and adventurers can camp the night and enjoy a bonfire beside a lake among the rocks. Tents, camping beds and other materials will be provided.

The district forest department has been conducting several adventure tourism activities like bird watching, night camping, cycling, rock climbing, trekking etc in the district.
