1. Camino de Santiago, Spain


Since the ninth century when the discoveries of apostle’s remains were reportedly made, pilgrims have been following the Way of St James to Santiago de Compostela. The sociable sacred stroll is the Camino Frances route.

2. Mauna Kea, Hawaii, USA

Mauna Kea is not just a volcano to native Hawiins. It is the connection between land and the gods. The gigantic mountain on Big Island is 4,207m above sea level.


3. Mount Kailash, Tibet

The remote 6,638m peak is sacred to Bons, Jains, Hindus and Buddhists. Many make their way across the Tibetan plateau to complete a kora to clear bad karma of one lifetime.

4. Lourdes, France

The little town of Lourdes in the Pyrenean foothills got the world's attention in 1858, when 14-year-old Bernadette Soubirous had a vision of the Virgin Mary there. Since then more than 200 million people have visited the sacred place.

India's River Ganges is the most sacred waterway. On the left bank of Ganges in the state of Uttar Pradesh lies the Varanasi, which allows human a way to connect to the divine by making a spiritual crossing.
