Sex Health Samantha Evans says that the pain may be due to several other reasons like Lichen Sclerosus which usually affects postmenopausal women and linked to an overactive immune system. Vaginismus is another condition where the muscles around the vagina tighten during sex and can cause pain. While all these conditions are physical, psychological conditions like disgust or not want to have sex may also lead to an ache during sex.

Diet is another major cause where foods containing high level of oxalates can become crystals and cause pain in the body. While the amount of pain may vary it is important to get it treated as soon as possible.
